Job summary

The Pittsburgh Paints Company in Oakwood, GA is seeking a Production Operator - Paint Processor to support dispersion, thindown, quality evaluation, and batch adjustments. This role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork in a fast-paced paint manufacturing environment.

Starting pay is $23.02 per hour with a $1 shift differential. 2nd shift runs 3 PM–11 PM, Monday–Friday, with occasional overtime; training on 1st shift 7 AM–3 PM for 6–8 weeks.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Comply with safety rules and standard practices.
• Operate mixing and processing equipment per production instructions.
• Accurately add raw materials to batches in correct order and amounts.
• Move materials with forklifts and material handling equipment.
• Monitor batches to ensure quality; perform color/viscosity/strength adjustments as directed.
• Record batch information including temperatures, times, speeds, and adjustments.

Production Operator - Paint Processor in Oakwood, GA

Starting pay: $23.02 hourly, with a $1.00 shift differential.

Training will be on 1st shift for the first 6- 8 weeks, Monday through Friday, 7 AM- 3 PM.

This role is responsible for safely producing batches according to specifications, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring product quality standards are met. The ideal candidate has prior manufacturing experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Comply with all safety rules and standard safety practices
• Operate mixing and processing equipment according to production instructions
• Accurately add raw materials to batches in the correct order and amounts
• Use forklifts and other material handling equipment to move and stage materials
• Monitor batches during processing to ensure quality standards are being met
• Perform quality checks and make adjustments to color, viscosity, or strength as directed
• Transfer materials between tanks or vessels using pumps and transfer hoses
• Record batch information such as temperatures, mix times, speeds, and adjustments

Required Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn production and inventory systems
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and accurately document work

Physical Requirements

• Ability to climb ladders and stairs
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time and move over, under, and around production equipment
• Frequent bending, reaching, lifting hoses, manipulating valves, operating and adjusting equipment, stacking pallets, and carrying materials
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. frequently and up to 80 lbs. occasionally
