Job summary

The Arkema Group in Birdsboro, PA is seeking a Production Operator to support plant operations. This role operates packaging equipment, transfers finished materials, and maintains daily packaging process performance.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or GED, basic math skills, and the willingness to work rotating shifts. Forklift experience is preferred; pre-employment drug/alcohol and physical testing are required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist emptying finished product from industrial dryers.
  • Comply with procedures for packaging, safety and quality.
  • Operate powered industrial trucks.
  • Have physical dexterity for stairs, ladders and lifting.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Perform other operator duties as needed.

Our polymer manufacturing plant in Birdsboro, PA is looking for a Production Operator to support plant operations. Arkema in Birdsboro has around 65 employees but we are part of larger organization with over 21,000 employees worldwide. We call this the "small company feel with large company resources." Major highlights regarding employment as a Production Operator:

Wage: $31.02/hr to start plus $.90 for 2nd shift and $1.15 for 3rd shift.

Shift:8hrs each shift, rotates weekly between 1st, 2nd, 3rd;

Schedule:5-7 days in a row with daysoff in-between rotations

Overtime:average of 4-8 hours weekly, paid for over 8 hours worked in a day and over 40 weekly

PRIMARY DUTIES
  • Operate packaging equipment and maintain daily packaging process efficiencies
  • Transferfinished materials between warehouses
  • Assist emptying finished product out of industrial dryers
  • Comply with all technical, quality control, product manufacturing and safety procedures associated with Packaging
  • Operate powered industrial trucks
  • Have physical dexterity in climbing stairs, ladders, heavy lifting
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Other operator assistance tasks and general duties as needed and assigned
REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum education requirement: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must demonstrate basic math skills
  • Must be willing to be subject to pre-employment testing including drug and alcohol and physical testing.
  • Preferexperience inmanufacturing type of work andchemical plant production experience strongly desired; similar skills/experience will be considered.
  • Preferfork lift (tow motor) experience
  • Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime
