Job summary

WEG Transformers USA seeks a Production Operator (1st Shift) to join our transformer manufacturing team. You will read BOMs, wiring schematics, and install HV windings, ensuring quality and safety in every step of production.

Responsibilities include framing, lead preparation, and critical inspections, using overhead crane for movement. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

  • Must comply with WEG Code of Ethics and Values.
  • Able to work overtime as needed.
  • Resides within reasonable commuting distance; no relocation assistance.
  • Must have current US work authorization.
  • Must complete application, interview, pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Safety-sensitive position requires a drug panel including THC.

Responsibilities

  • Read Bills of Materials (BOMs), drawings, schematics and specs with minimal supervision.
  • Operate HV winding machines.
  • Frame and top-yoke active part.
  • Identify and cut lengths of cable for all lead runs; prepare leads and cable assemblies; make LV/HV connections and related power transformer wiring.
  • Verify insulation and lead runs for correct installation and clearances.
  • Prepare covers, install bushings and hardware for mounting on tank or active part.
  • Move unit to/from test bay using overhead crane.

Role: Production Operator (1st Shift)

You may see yourself in this role, if you have mechanical and/or electrical aptitude, a strong work ethic, and are looking for a serious career opportunity. You will perform a range of tasks in the production of a transformer:

  • Reading, understanding and interpreting Bills of Materials (BOMs), drawings, schematics and specifications to complete assignments with limited supervision;
  • Operating HV winding machines
  • Framing and top-yoking active part.
  • Properly identifying and calculating lengths of cable for all lead runs; preparing leads as well as cable assemblies; making all Low-Voltage (LV) and High-Voltage (HV) connections, Load Tap Changer (LTC) connections, preventive auto transformer connections and/or series booster transformer connections if applicable. Route and tie off leads.
  • Verifying correct installation of insulation and lead runs for running cable leads, ensuring all clearances are maintained and all crimped, bolted and/or brazed connections are installed.
  • Preparing cover, installing bushings, and other hardware for mounting onto tank or active part.
  • Moving unit to and from test bay using overhead crane.

Requirements
