Job summary

Antero Resources in West Virginia is seeking a hands-on production operator to support field operations. The role emphasizes safety, equipment knowledge, and proactive troubleshooting to minimize downtime and optimize production.

Job description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Follow all of the Safety, Health, and Environmental policies, procedures, and requirements, ensuring personal safety, safety of others, and safety of the surrounding area.
  • Actively participate in the installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of production facilities.
  • Minimize well downtime by thoroughly understanding the cause; maintain and make regular repairs on production equipment to retain or recover lost production. Involve the appropriate Mechanic or Engineer when requiring additional assistance.
  • Troubleshoot increasingly complex, non-routine issues and problem wells. Discuss improvements and implement approved solution in a safe manner.
  • Identify opportunities and communicate ideas to further optimize field production, costs, etc. to assist with process improvement.
  • Ensure all new wells are ready for production, including tank batteries, corrosion protection, necessary personnel, rental equipment, etc.
  • Make sure daily activities, site conditions, and regulatory requirements are followed and maintained according to Company policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Under General Supervision, This Position Will

Qualifications
Education, Experience, Licensure (minimum level required)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two (2) years of production related experience.

  • Fundamental understanding of surface and/or subsurface equipment and operations.
  • Basic knowledge of downhole operations, failure analysis, and best practices.
  • Ability to identify problems and failures to perform troubleshooting skills and provide a solution.
  • Understand the safe operation of electrical systems, valves, and high-pressure and temperature systems on facilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to ask questions, observe, receive, and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources.
  • Ability to work professionally and respectfully with Land Owners, Operators, teams, and others.
SAFETY SENSITIVE RELATED
If applicable. For designation above and field related positions.
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles, equipment, and tools.
  • Able to recognize and apply safety processes and procedures.
  • Possess valid driver's license and clean driving record (MVR) that meet Company's Insurance qualifications to operate Company vehicle.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Functions as an individual contributor with no supervisory responsibilities.

Field Related

This position may be subject to:

  • Exposure to computer screens and requires regular use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system.
  • Extreme Cold and Heat: temperatures typically below 32 o F or above 100 o F for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions as wind, rain, snow, and humidity.
  • Noise: there is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
  • Vibration: exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.
  • Confined Space: work areas large enough for individual to enter, limited means of entry or exit, and not designed for continue occupancy.
  • Hazards: includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals, combustibles, explosives, etc.
HOURS / SHIFTS
  • Regular business hours.
  • Alternative shift schedule: 7&7.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Minimally lift, push, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently be able to bend, stoop, crouch, etc.
  • Frequent amount of traversing through challenging terrain to perform work, evaluate sites and conditions, inspect equipment/assets, etc.
TRAVEL
Approximate amount of time.
  • Frequent travel to Company's field operations and/or offices. Approximately 95% of time in field.
