Prestolite Electric/Leece-Neville in Arcade, NY is seeking Production Operator candidates for 1st shift. The role includes running machines, assembling components, testing parts, and occasionally moving between tasks to fit schedules.

No prior manufacturing experience is required; dependability and a willingness to learn are valued. Competitive hourly pay and full-time employment with growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED preferred.
• Must wear safety shoes, safety glasses and other required safety equipment.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality, including the ability to adhere to assigned work schedules and shift requirements.

Responsibilities

• Run machines, assemble components, final assembly and/or test parts.
• Move between jobs as needed; some positions require standing or sitting for varying times.
• Frequent lifting of up to 20 lbs.
• Operate soldering irons and related equipment; use air drivers and potting equipment.
• Handle chemicals commonly used in factory production and read MSDS sheets.
• Maintain charts/graphs and read process specifications; keep workstations clean.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Required to run machines, assemble components, final assemble product and/or test parts. May be assigned to one or more of these during any shift.
• Will need to be flexible to move from job to job, where some will be standing, others sitting for various lengths of time, depending on schedules.
• May require frequent lifting of 20 lbs.
• Must be able to operate solder irons and other solder equipment, air drivers, potting equipment, electrical pass-fail test equipment, etc.
• Must be able to work with chemicals commonly found in factory production such as flux, solder, epoxy, adhesives, silastics, etc.
• Will be required to maintain required charts and graphs, become familiar with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), read and sign process specifications pertaining to their work assignments and keep workstations neat and clean.
