Job summary

Airgas, Inc. in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a Production Operator and Backup Driver Trainee to join our manufacturing team. You will primarily fill and package cylinders, while training to drive local routes once CDL is achieved. No CDL? we train you to earn it and advance within gas production.

This entry‑level role offers hands‑on experience in high‑pressure cylinder operations, safety training, and a path to a CDL, with full benefits and a Monday‑through‑Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• CDL license or trainee status eligible for company training to obtain CDL.
• 1 year CMV experience in last 5 years or recent graduate within past year.
• Valid driver's license with clean record preferred; CDL preferred.
• Comfortable handling high‑pressure and cryogenic gases; PPE‑compliant.
• Forklift/pallet jack operation; on‑site certification provided if needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely fill industrial, medical, and mixed gas cylinders using specialized methods.
• Adhere to DOT, OSHA, and SAFECOR policies; wear required PPE.
• Monitor gauges and perform audits; inspect cargo and equipment.
• Load/unload delivery trucks and manage cylinder inventory safely.
