Job summary

Abbott's Altavista Nutrition plant seeks a Sr Production Equipment Operator to safely run high-speed production equipment and support efficient manufacturing of leading nutrition products.

You will keep precise production records, ensure availability of materials, troubleshoot equipment and verify IDs, codes and expiration dates while performing quality checks on-line and off-line. Day shift rotates weekly. Abbott offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 6 months of manufacturing experience.
• Proficiency in basic math and good verbal and written communication; some mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate, clean and help maintain production equipment, including high-speed lines.
• Maintain accurate and legible records and documentation.
• Maintain an adequate supply of materials for equipment in operation.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Ensure correct product/material identification, codes and expiration dates.
• Perform on-line visual quality inspections and offline quality tests.

What You’ll Work On

• Safely operate, clean and help maintain the production related equipment both complex and standard high-speed production equipment that makes our industry-leading nutrition products
• Maintain accurate and legible records and documentation
• Maintain an adequate supply of materials for the equipment in operation
• Troubleshoot equipment issues
• Ensure that both products and materials are of proper identification, correct codes and expiration dates
• Perform periodic on-line visual quality inspections and offline quality tests

You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Shift

This is for the day shift. Example of shift: Shift Hours: 6am to 6:30 pm, on a rotating basis. Week One: Mon - On / Tues - On / Weds - Off / Thurs - Off / Fri - On / Sat - On / Sun - On Week Two: Mon - Off / Tues - Off / Weds - On / Thurs - On / Fri - Off / Sat - Off / Sun - Off

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Preferred Qualifications 6 months prior manufacturing experience
• Proficiency in basic math, good verbal and written communication skills Some mechanical aptitude

The base pay for this position is $17.15 – $34.25/hour In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
