Abbott Laboratories is seeking a Sr Production Equipment Operator at our Altavista, VA site. You will operate and maintain high-speed production equipment for nutrition products, ensuring proper IDs, documentation, and quality checks.

The role supports FDA/OSHA compliance and teamwork across shifts. Training, safety, and documentation are emphasized, with opportunities to grow within Abbott's nutrition manufacturing network.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months prior manufacturing experience preferred.
• Proficiency in basic math; good verbal and written communication.
• Some mechanical aptitude is preferred.

What You’ll Work On

• Safely operate, clean and help maintain the production related equipment both complex and standard high-speed production equipment that makes our industry-leading nutrition products
• Maintain accurate and legible records and documentation
• Maintain an adequate supply of materials for the equipment in operation
• Troubleshoot equipment issues
• Ensure that both products and materials are of proper identification, correct codes and expiration dates.
• Perform periodic on-line visual quality inspections and offline quality tests

You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Shift

This is for the day shift. Example of shift:

Shift Hours: 6am to 6:30 pm, on a rotating basis.

Week One: Mon - On / Tues - On / Weds - Off / Thurs - Off / Fri - On / Sat - On / Sun - On

Week Two: Mon - Off / Tues - Off / Weds - On / Thurs - On / Fri - Off / Sat - Off / Sun - Off

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 months prior manufacturing experience
• Proficiency in basic math, good verbal and written communication skills
• Some mechanical aptitude

The base pay for this position is $17.15 – $34.25 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
