Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Sr Production Equipment Operator for its Altavista, VA nutrition plant. You will safely operate and maintain production equipment, keep precise records, and ensure correct materials and expiration codes are used to support high-quality nutrition products.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 6 months of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Proficiency in basic math and solid verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate, clean and help maintain production equipment, including high-speed lines.
• Keep accurate records and documentation for production processes.
• Ensure materials and codes are correct and properly identified.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise.
• Support quality inspections and tests as part of manufacturing processes.

What You'll Work On

• Safely operate, clean and help maintain the production related equipment both complex and standard high-speed production equipment that makes our industry-leading nutrition products
• Maintain accurate and legible records and documentation
• Maintain an adequate supply of materials for the equipment in operation
• Troubleshoot equipment issues
• Ensure that both products and materials are of proper identification, correct codes and expiration dates.
• Perform periodic on-line visual quality inspections and offline quality tests

You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 months prior manufacturing experience
• Proficiency in basic math, good verbal and written communication skills
• Some mechanical aptitude

The base pay for this position is
