Job summary

Deluxe Corporation in Lenexa, KS seeks a press operator to support manufacturing, packaging and shipping a quality product. You will run sheet fed, digital presses and bindery equipment, following SOPs and working with a team to meet daily goals.

Responsibilities include press setup, ink/water balance, color matching, and basic maintenance. 18+ years old with HS/GED and 1 year printing experience preferred; exceptional attention to detail and safety are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• HS/GED with 1 year printing experience with similar equipment.
• Familiar with product, equipment, printing process, and ink usage.

Responsibilities

• Set up presses, load stock, adjust ink/water balance, and meet job specifications.
• Operate sheet-fed, digital presses, and bindery equipment as required.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
• Follow SOPs to ensure quality and on-time order completion.

Shift: 3rd, Sunday - Thursday 10:30pm - 6:30am

Retention Bonus: $750

Responsible for running various equipment to assist with manufacturing, packaging, and shipping a quality product to the customer. Tasks will include running sheet fed, digital presses, bindery equipment, other processing equipment, and shipping/packing. Associates are responsible for following standard operating procedures and processes to ensure quality of the orders produced, while working in a team environment to achieve daily goals.

Runs mostly standard work and basic manual numbering may be required. Automated or basic setups and changeovers may be required.

• Performs set-up of press including identifying and loading correct stock, setting correct paper path and stretch, mounting plates, die registration, making appropriate adjustments to the ink and water levels, assuring accurate single-color register and setting up any attribute functions, e.g. perforations, number, file holes, thermo unit, etc.


• Determine and understand all order instructions and running of press productively while, meeting job requirements of ink density, ink and water balance, color matching, and required attributes at a quality level that meets or exceeds our customers' expectations.


• Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns; demonstrate the ability to make adjustments to the equipment including blanket changes, wash up units, cleaning water system and roller settings as required.


• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance and cleaning to ensure a quality product to customer as required. Understand all press controls and demonstrate their use.

Basic Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications (PQs)

• HS/GED with 1 year printing experience with similar equipment.


• Familiar with product, equipment, printing process, and ink usage.


• Mechanical ability to operate and maintain press. Basic math, reading and computer skills.
