Job summary

Deluxe Corporation is seeking a press operator for 2nd shift in Lenexa, KS. The role involves operating high-speed presses, ensuring ink density, color matching, and quality control to meet customer specifications.

You will perform setup, make adjustments, and troubleshoot mechanical issues under supervision. We offer day-one benefits and an incentive plan; the base hourly pay ranges from $22.00 to $23.00, with pay influenced by knowledge, skills, location, and internal equity.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as multi-color sheet-fed or continuous/web presses running mostly custom or base forms work or high-speed single-color continuous/web presses.
• Perform complete in-press setups and changeovers, including stock loading, paper path setup, PMS ink mixing, die registration, and ink/water balance adjustments.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and adjust equipment including blanket changes, wash-ups, and roller settings as needed.

Compensation

The compensation range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00 hourly. This position will be eligible for an annual performance incentive plan. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, experience and take into account internal equity.

Job Duties

Under general direction from team manager and in conjunction with team members, contribute to company quality and service commitments by operating equipment, such as multi-color sheet-fed or continuous/web presses running mostly custom or base forms work or high-speed single-color continuous/web presses. Intermediate to advanced manual numbering may be required. Manual setups and changeovers are typically required.

• Perform a complete effective set-up of press in an efficient manner, which may include identifying and loading correct stock, setting correct paper path and stretch, bending and mounting plates, mixing PMS ink, die registration, making appropriate adjustments to the ink and water balance, assuring accurate multi-color register and setting up any attribute functions, e.g. perforations, number, file holes, thermo unit etc.
• Determine and understand all order instructions and running of press productively while, meeting job requirements of ink density, ink and water balance, color matching, size and construction, and required attributes at a quality level that meets or exceeds our customer’s expectations.
• Maintain the ability to troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns; demonstrate the ability to make adjustments to the equipment including blanket changes, washing up units, cleaning water system and roller settings as required.
