Job Overview
As a Production Operator at Avient, you will set up and operate equipment to blend, mix, or transport chemicals that make up our customer products. You will ensure high quality and cost efficiency, perform machine maintenance, quality control, record data, and support the company’s vision and principles while adhering to safety and regulatory rules.

Essential Duties
- Set up, start, and run all machinery
- Weigh ingredients to meet recipe specification and insert into machinery, or ensure the correct ingredients are delivered and pre‑blended materials are inserted
- Monitor production and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation; troubleshoot equipment and processing issues
- Operate machinery to mix, extrude/discharge, or handle materials
- Take samples of materials for lab evaluation and follow batch adjustment instructions as needed
- Perform all required machine cleaning
- Document work completed as required, including logs, data reports, procedures, etc.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent training and experience
- Preferred work experience in an industrial operations environment
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or procedure manuals
- Mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, divide, use conversions, work with weight, volume, density, distance units, etc.
Physical Demands
- Requires standing and sitting for extended periods, talking, listening
- Must walk and use hands; occasional bending, stooping, climbing ladders and stairs
- May occasionally lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds
- Must communicate and understand work instructions in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment with loud noise level
- Must detect and respond to safety alarms
- Requires use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, hard hat, respiratory protection
- Exposure to outside weather conditions is routine; may experience extreme heat and humidity, and dust or fumes on occasion
