Pay: $20.00 - $25.74 (Shift premium for 2nd and 3rd shift!)

Hours:

• 1st shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Mon–Fri)
• 2nd shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (Mon–Fri)
• 3rd shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Sun night–Thu night)

Job Overview

In this entry-level manufacturing position as a Production Associate with Avient you will be responsible for performing weigh-up or packaging duties within the production department, ensuring the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost and meeting customer specifications and delivery requirements in accordance with Avient policies and procedures.

Essential Functions

• Set up blending equipment; produce correct materials; weigh materials
• Seal, stencil and/or label containers of finished product and move to designated area
• Maintain 5S cleanliness of work area
• Ensure participation and cooperation in company-implemented Environmental Health & Safety programs; follow all safety rules
• Produce quality product in a timely manner
• Obtain correct documentation for the run
• Ensure correct ingredients are delivered to the work area; obtain correct ingredients for mixing and weigh out ingredients to meet recipe specifications
• Set up and start machinery, checking all controls for adherence to operating and safety procedures
• Notify appropriate personnel of any issues, problems or concerns in a timely manner
• Safely and neatly process batch off, screen, cut‑up, package and/or skid material to correct size/container according to customer specifications
• Accurately supply and support Production Operators with appropriate materials/functions to keep all equipment operational
• Perform all required machine cleaning
• Complete and maintain required paperwork and/or documents
• Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations
• Maintain departmental housekeeping standards
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School diploma, General Education Diploma (GED) or equivalent training and experience
• Work experience in an industrial operations environment preferred
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or procedure manuals
• Must have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and be able to use conversions and work with different units such as weight, volume, density, distance, etc.

Physical Demands

• Requires standing and sitting for extended periods, talking and listening
• Must be able to walk and use hands; occasionally require bending, stooping, climbing ladders and stairs
• May occasionally be required to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to frequently communicate and understand work instructions in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment where noise level is loud
• Must be able to detect and discern safety alarms and respond accordingly
• Generally requires the use of PPE such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, hard hat, respiratory protection
• Exposure to outside weather conditions is routine
• May be exposed to extreme heat and humidity
• May also be exposed on occasion to dust or fumes
