Job description

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Properly load correct cardboard for cartons and dividers into the former machine.
2. Monitor the forming process and dispose of any incorrectly formed cartons following disposal/recycling guidelines.
3. Bail scrap cardboard during and at the end of the scheduled shift.
4. Safely operate bailer equipment.
5. Remove banding from cardboard stacks and dispose of strapping using appropriate methods.
6. Monitor and comply with all changeover requirements to eliminate carton waste.
7. Perform quality checks, including entering data into computer software proficiently.
8. Maintain clean, safe, and efficient workstations; dispose of trash correctly (cardboard recycling, area cleanliness including used rag recycling). The area must be maintained throughout the shift and during final cleanup.
9. Start equipment and identify basic mechanical issues.
10. Support all changeover requirements of the commodity product.
11. Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

1. Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
2. Minimum of 1 year manufacturing experience.
3. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
4. Willingness to work scheduled overtime or shift changes when required.
5. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds periodically throughout the shift and meet physical requirements including lifting, bending, standing, reaching, and visual inspection.
6. Basic math skills.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
8. Mechanical inclination to perform minor machine corrections preferred.
