How will you make a difference?

You will be responsible for performing surface finish operations, gaging, and utilizing manual equipment and automated equipment in accordance with manufacturing and quality procedures. Inspect work completed on components to internal inspection criteria for compliance with quality or engineering requirements.

What do we want to know about you?

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 3 years of experience in Manufacturing
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Basic shop math skills in all units of measure, along with ability to read and use gauges and measuring instruments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while having a high degree of attention to details.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Perform surface finish operations.
  • Perform gaging.
  • Utilizing manual equipment and automated equipment in accordance with manufacturing and quality procedures.
  • Inspect work completed on components to internal inspection criteria for compliance with quality or engineering requirements.
  • Operating an industrial truck.

What about the physical demands of the job?

  • Exposure to shop floor requires wearing PPE.
  • Walking, climbing, stooping, bending, lifting is all part of the hands-on learning process.
  • Frequent and prolonged standing/walking.
  • Heavy lifting (45+ pounds).
  • Repeat bending, straight pulling and pushing.
  • Exposure to intermittent noise (90DB).
  • Ability to distinguish basic colors.
  • Exposure to epoxy, solvent, degreasers, paint, vapors, heat, dust and smoke from burning.

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary for this role is $22.38 per hour. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, is available at mywabtecbenefits.com.
