Furst-McNess Company in Lake City, FL is seeking a Production Operator for 1st or 2nd shift. This full-time role operates production equipment, packages products, and supports daily plant operations in an onsite warehouse setting. 5‑day workweek with overtime opportunities; shifts run 6:00am–2:30pm or 1:00pm–9:30pm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, or related field preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English and perform basic math calculations.
• Willingness to obtain forklift certification with company support.

Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment and packaging lines.
• Package product and stack bags or bulk product onto pallets.
• Move materials with forklifts and pallet jacks as needed.
• Assist with loading/unloading bulk materials from trucks.
• Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance needs.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and complete daily/weekly housekeeping tasks.
• Document production, quality, and safety data accurately and on time.
• Follow GMP and safety guidelines and wear PPE.

See our benefits summary below.**POSITION SUMMARY**:The Feed Production Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently manufacturing and packaging high‐quality feed and mineral products. This role operates production equipment, follows established procedures, maintains a clean and safe work environment, and supports daily plant operations. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail‐oriented, and committed to producing consistent, high‐quality products while contributing to efficient plant operations.**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:* Operate manufacturing, production, and packaging equipment* Package product and stack bags or bulk product onto pallets* Measure, prepare and add materials according to work instructions* Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move materials and finished goods* Assist with mixing or production processes as trained* Load and unload bulk materials from trucks or other deliveries* Perform routine equipment checks, report maintenance needs, and assist with basic repairs when trained* Follow inventory procedures and repair damaged bags or pallets as needed* Maintain a clean and safe work area; complete daily and weekly housekeeping tasks and documentation* Complete production, quality, and safety documentation accurately and on time* Follow all safety guidelines, wear required PPE, equipment lockout/tagout, and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory requirements* Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and resolve issues* Perform other duties as assigned**QUALIFICATIONS**:* High school diploma or equivalent required* Previous manufacturing, production, warehouse, or related experience is preferred* Experience operating industrial equipment, or willingness to learn and operate equipment safely* Forklift certification preferred; willingness to obtain certification with company support* Ability to read, write, and speak English and perform basic math calculations* Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork* Effective teamwork, communication, and reliability skills* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities* Willingness to work in an indoor warehouse environment with temperature fluctuations due to seasonal weather conditions* Ability to lift up to 70 lbs., work at heights, and perform physical tasks in an industrial environment**About Furst-McNess Company**:For more than a century, Furst-McNess Company has been a trusted leader in animal nutrition, delivering innovative feed, mineral, and management solutions to livestock producers across the United States.
