Job summary

Avantor in Sparks, NV is seeking an entry-level Production Operator to monitor production processes, perform packing and shipping duties, and document activities. You will help assemble and package cupels, ensuring quality and safety throughout the shift.

The role offers on-site training, teamwork, and opportunities to grow in a hands-on manufacturing environment at Avantor’s busy Sparks facility.

Qualifications

  • No experience required – training provided.
  • Basic English (written and verbal) acceptable.
  • Follow instructions and shift priorities quickly.
  • Reliable, punctual, and positive attitude.
  • High school diploma or GED is a plus.
  • OSHA forklift and/or HAZMAT certification are a plus.
  • Comfortable with basic computer tasks and simple math.
  • Team player focused on safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and clean production equipment.
  • Inspect products and monitor machines during production.
  • Package finished goods and maintain accurate records.
  • Follow safety procedures and keep work area clean and organized.
  • Report equipment issues, material defects, or safety concerns.
  • Meet production goals for quality and efficiency.
  • Assist with inventory counts and general site maintenance.
  • Support other tasks as needed.

Job description

The Opportunity: Entry level position; monitor the production process system to ensure proper operation. Inspect, check and document process production activities. Perform container preparation, bulk and non-bulk filling, shipping and receiving activities and other production and facility capacities as assigned. Ensure safety, quality of workmanship, efficiency and timeliness when performing the assigned work.

Job Summary Avantor is a trusted supplier to mining and assay laboratories worldwide. As our business continues to grow, we’re looking for Production Operators to join our team in Sparks, Nevada. In this role, you’ll help produce and package cupels—small, porous containers used to separate precious metals like gold and silver from base metals. If you’re someone who enjoys staying active and working with your hands, this could be a great fit.

What you’ll be doing:

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
  • Active, hands-on role in a busy production area
  • Exposed to noise, dust, non-hazardous chemicals, and moving machinery
  • Safety gear provided
  • Frequent standing, walking, and lifting (up to 25 lbs)
  • Repetitive hand and foot movements
  • Good vision required for close-up and peripheral tasks
