Avantor is seeking an Operator at its NuSil site in Carpinteria, CA. This full-time role collaborates with a diverse team in a manufacturing environment, supporting healthcare, aerospace, and biotech industries.

You will manage packaging and manufacturing tasks and help keep production on schedule. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, 1–2 years of packaging or distribution experience, and familiarity with cGMP and RCRA training is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain equipment in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Comply with company standards and OSHA requirements.
  • Ensure lines are set up and running to the production schedule.
  • Understand line and pump configuration; perform line changeovers as needed.
  • Perform pre-start-up inspections and address failed checks.
  • Maintain manufacturing areas clean and organized.
  • Collaborate with Supervisors and Maintenance to resolve issues.
  • Work with QA to understand and rectify quality issues.
  • Possess authority to stop the line and notify QA of contamination events.

Avantor is seeking an Operator at our NuSil site. This is a full-time position based in Carpinteria, CA. What we’re looking for
  • Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in packaging or distribution.
  • Certification(s): None required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a chemical plant.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Understanding/familiarity with cGMP and RCRA training.

  • Perform pre-start-up inspections on equipment and ensure that items that have failed checks are addressed.
  • Maintain manufacturing areas clean and organized.
  • Willing to multitask and be flexible.
  • Keep accurate production records.
  • Collaborate with Supervisors and Maintenance Personnel to resolve equipment setup and operations issues.
  • Work with the QA Dept to understand, recognize, and rectify quality issues.
  • Has the authority and responsibility to stop the line and notify QA of a contamination event.
  • Ability to perform the duties of both a packaging operator and material handler.
  • Manage hazardous and universal waste in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
  • Demonstrate mechanical ability.
  • Critical decision-making skills, creativity, and multitasking ability.

Pay Transparency

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is $43,500.00 - $69,575.00 Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
