Job summary

Commercial Metals in Orlando, FL is seeking a production/fabrication associate to join our team. You will train on applicable equipment and perform duties across loading, unloading, and maintaining fabrication areas in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

The role requires the ability to lift 50 pounds, operate machines safely, and work overtime as needed. Strong teamwork, attention to detail, and a solid work ethic are essential to succeed in this position.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work outside under all weather conditions including heat and cold
• Able and willing to cross train as required
• Follow OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies, rules, and regulations
• Possess a strong work ethic and practice safe working habits
• Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced environment with attention to detail
• Ability to operate fabrication machines safely without supervision
• Willingness to work overtime as business requires
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work outside in all weather
• Must read technical documents and service manuals
• Knowledge of commonly used industrial concepts and procedures
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Minimum 1 year in heavy industrial environment (preferred)
• Punctual and reliable work ethic
• Stand for long periods of time

Responsibilities

• Attend training regarding applicable equipment
• Perform additional duties as needed
• Assist in loading fabricated rebar on trailers and unloading stock material
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition
• Operate production machines following established procedures and guidelines
• Participate in the CMC safety programs and uphold safety culture
• Cross-train on multiple machines
• Operate rebar fabrication equipment such as shears, benders, cranes, forklifts, threaders, forging, welders, etc.

What You\'ll Do

• Ability to operate fabrication machines in a safe manner without supervision
• Able to work overtime as business requires
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and steps, work outside under all weather conditions when needed
• Must be able to read technical documents and service manuals
• Possess knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the industrial field
• Excellent communication skills, in both written and verbal form are necessary to be successful in this role
• Minimum 1 year working with heavy industrial environment experience preferred but not required
• Must be able to work overtime, either planned or unplanned for emergency situations
• Must possess work ethic and ability to be punctual
• Stand for long periods of time

Your Education

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
