Role Impact:
As part of an aseptic, beverage manufacturing company, the Production Operator will be critical in operating production equipment related to blending, filling, processing, and sterilizing equipment.
In this role, the Production Operator will perform all tasks and functions related to operating various pieces of production equipment; monitoring production processes and line operations; preparing and maintaining batch records and charts; sanitizing and cleaning equipment; performing inspections on products and preventative maintenance activities on equipment; operating material control equipment; loading and unloading materials; weighing up and staging ingredients for processing; and using ERP to track production and related information.
Role Responsibilities
- Operate and observe production line equipment to ensure food safety, product quality, and conformity meeting customer standards and specifications.
- Prepare, operate, monitor, and document bulk slurries for blending operations, heat treatment processes, controlled weigh systems of batch ingredients, and other applicable systems and documents.
- Perform hand cleaning, clean-in-place (CIP), heat treatment systems, cleaning-out of place (COP), routine housekeeping, and other cleaning and sanitization tasks as assigned by leadership.
- Receive and unload bulk raw ingredients, CIP chemicals, and material movements/staging of ingredients with a powered industrial forklift.
- Complete daily documentation of batches with a comprehensive understanding of the data and its impact on operations.
- Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and collaborate with the Maintenance Team to increase manufacturing efficiency.
- Perform changeovers, complete line clears, and accurately set up the next item's packaging and coding.
- Operate within Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Adhere to SQF and Food Safety Standards.
- Follow Food Safety requirements and standards as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic mathematical and calculation skills.
Experience & Skills
- Experience operating equipment in an aseptic food and beverage manufacturing facility is highly preferred.
- Experience working in a manufacturing facility.
- Understanding of lean-in-place (CIP) production.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Adaptability to dynamic, fast-paced environments and willingness to embrace new challenges and opportunities.
Physical Requirements
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for entire shift.
- Ability to work with equipment containing electric and magnetic components.
