Job summary

IFF is a global leader in flavors, fragrances, food ingredients and health & biosciences. The Jacksonville, FL on-site role focuses on safe, efficient fragrance production and hands-on process operations.

As a skilled operator, you will run processing equipment, perform line-ups, load materials, collect samples, and maintain accurate production records. A HS diploma or GED is required, with 5 years in manufacturing (or 2 years with an associate degree) and strong math and teamwork skills.

  • Minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment or 2 years with an Associate degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, totes, tank wagons, or similar equipment.
  • Strong mathematical abilities for process operations and safe handling.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor chemical processing equipment used in fragrance production.
  • Load and unload raw materials and finished products from trucks, railcars, totes, and tank wagons.
  • Collect product samples and support quality control activities to ensure specs.
  • Manage wastewater handling activities in accordance with environmental requirements.
  • Clean, inspect, and maintain process equipment and document operations in computer systems.

Where You’ll Make a Difference
  • Operate and monitor chemical processing equipment used in the production of liquid chemicals for fragrance manufacturing.
  • Perform equipment line-ups, product transfers, tank readings, and routine operational checks to ensure efficient and safe production.
  • Load and unload raw materials and finished products from trucks, railcars, totes, and tank wagons.
  • Collect product samples and support quality control activities to ensure compliance with product specifications.
  • Manage wastewater handling activities in accordance with environmental and operational requirements.
  • Clean, inspect, and maintain process equipment to support safe and reliable operations.
  • Utilize computer systems for data entry, production documentation, and operational recordkeeping.
  • Follow all safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and environmental regulations while working in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Work effectively in an outdoor facility under varying weather conditions while supporting plant operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
What Makes You The Right Fit
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or a minimum of 2 years for candidates with an Associate's degree or current college enrollment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, totes, tank wagons, or similar equipment.
  • Strong mathematical abilities, including multiplication, division, and basic calculations required for process operations.
  • Ability to safely operate within a chemical manufacturing environment while adhering to established safety procedures.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights ranging from 12 to 90 feet, and wear required personal protective equipment, including respirators.
How You Would Stand Out
  • Previous experience in an industrial-scale chemical manufacturing facility.
  • High school or college coursework in Chemistry or a related scientific field.
  • Experience with chemical transfer operations, bulk material handling, railcar loading/unloading, or wastewater management systems.
