Job summary

International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. in Jacksonville, FL, onsite, seeks a Manufacturing Shift Supervisor to lead and coordinate all shift activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

You will supervise area supervisors, coach teams, monitor processes and drive quality and productivity improvements. The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and a proven ability to solve problems in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; additional college coursework preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, biotechnology, food production, chemical processing, or related environments.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production setting.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams toward achieving operational goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across functions and shifts.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making capabilities in an operational environment.
  • Strong focus on results, process performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with standard computer applications and production reporting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all manufacturing activities during assigned shifts to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
  • Supervise Area Supervisors and provide coaching, guidance, and support to drive team performance.
  • Monitor production processes and ensure product quality standards are consistently achieved.
  • Serve as the primary point of communication between shifts and cross-functional departments to promote operational alignment.
  • Identify process, equipment, or staffing issues and implement timely corrective actions to minimize disruptions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and operational excellence.
  • Analyze operational challenges and lead problem-solving efforts to improve process performance and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety policies while fostering a strong safety culture.
  • Complete administrative responsibilities including shift reporting, documentation, workforce coordination, and performance monitoring.
