Responsibilities

  • Read and follow work instructions, workmanship criteria, and drawings.
  • Monitor automation machines to ensure proper operation and flow.
  • Identify, report and help resolve issues with rejected parts.
  • Follow production, quality and safety procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and training.
  • Cross-train across departments as needed.
  • Maintain an organized, safe work area.
  • Perform additional duties to support production needs.

Schedule: Full-time

Compensation: $16.50 Hourly

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Production Operator I to support battery manufacturing and assembly operations. This position is responsible for assembling various battery components, operating production equipment and tools, monitoring automated machinery, and helping maintain a smooth and efficient production flow.

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position requires standing for extended periods and continually lifting up to 50 lbs. throughout the shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble battery components, including loading cells, aligning connectors, soldering, hand crimping, ultrasonic welding, and resistance spot welding.
  • Operate hand and power tools, including glue guns and hot air guns.
  • Read and follow work instructions, workmanship criteria, and technical drawings.
  • Monitor automation machines to ensure proper operation and production flow.
  • Identify, report, and assist with resolving issues involving rejected parts.
  • Follow established production, quality, and safety procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training.
  • Cross-train in different departments and production areas as needed.
  • Maintain an organized and safe work area.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support production needs.

Required Qualifications & Competencies:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred.
  • Technical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing production needs and rotate between different tasks.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency with office software.
  • Ability to follow policies, procedures, and production deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to continually lift and carry up to 50 lbs. throughout the shift.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Prolonged standing while performing assembly and production tasks.
  • Repetitive hand and wrist movements while assembling components and operating tools.
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and handling materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Required use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and gloves.
