POSITION SUMMARY:
- Operate lining, molding auxiliary equipment as assigned by rotation schedule or supervisor.
- Perform order, material changes, and machine start-ups/shut-downs properly.
- Provide support to the Extrusion Department as assigned.
- This is a Safety Sensitive Position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Identify issues and troubleshoot machines to produce quality parts safely.
- Perform order changes, including entering startup and shutdown data into DelmiaWorks system.
- Record all downtime reasons in ERP for tracking.
- Verify raw materials meet work requirements.
- Sample and visually inspect production every thirty minutes, record quality, and put products on hold as needed.
- Make process changes and notify supervisor of change status.
- Report substandard production quality to supervisor/lead.
- Check material quality and request more materials if necessary.
- Ensure all machine sensors, cap-guides, and conveyors operate properly.
- Report machine problems to supervisor/lead and complete maintenance work requests (MRO).
- Inform supervisor/lead if machines cannot operate at standard.
- Clean machines and work areas of materials, caps, oil, etc., and perform scheduled sanitation duties.
- Fill and empty virgin hoppers.
- Segregate, inspect, and sort scrap material.
- Relieve production operators and mold techs during breaks.
- Back up production operators and mold techs for other shifts; cover absences/vacations on a voluntary basis.
- Follow all GMP guidelines and safety rules and procedures.
- Complete all required documentation for assigned machines following manufacturing Work Orders (BOM).
- Reintroduce rejected parts after inspection if deemed good.
- Set up and operate the extrusion slitter.
- Load and monitor reprocessing equipment and grinders in extrusion.
- Assist with packaging finished goods and roll changes in extrusion.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervision/management.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attend Green Area Meetings.
- Follow all Food Safety policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all safety rules, policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Sort and visually inspect rejected cartons.
- Serve as backup off-shift production operator and mold technician.
- Complete required Track Pro / Paulson training for the position.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education and Training: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; good verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience: Mechanical aptitude required.
