Job summary

Sun Chemical is seeking a production operator for 1st shift to independently operate production equipment and support multiple areas of manufacturing. You may fill in for other positions and assume a lead role when necessary.

Responsibilities include operating vertical post mixers, weighing equipment, and SAP Inventory functions, with a focus on safety, batch accuracy, and continuous improvement. The role requires 1–3 years in manufacturing and strong math, written and verbal skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
• Strong computer proficiency.
• Able to learn new tasks and assignments and willing to maintain flexibility and support change.
• Must possess sound mathematical, verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment in various areas of manufacturing.
• Fill in for other positions and provide lead support when needed.
• Proficient in SAP Inventory and perform inventory cycle counts.
• Stock rotation and minimization of partial containers.
• Operate lift trucks.

SHIFT: 1st Shift (7:00 AM-3:30PM)

JOB OVERVIEW:

• Under minimal direction, independently operates production equipment in various areas of manufacturing. Able to also fill in for other positions in the plant, as well as assuming a lead role if necessary.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Operate Vertical Post Mixers
• Operate gather/weigh equipment.
• Make operating adjustments as necessary.
• Proficient in all areas of and the ability to operate SAP Inventory function and perform inventory cycle counts.
• Stock rotation and minimization of partial containers.
• Operate Lift Trucks.
• Read, understand and follow batch tickets to achieve production schedule.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Participate on plant teams and serve as a trainer for employees and/or new hires
• Other duties as assigned by a supervisor, lead employee or other member of

Safety:

• Wear appropriate PPE at all times.
• Maintain a clean work area and work safely.
• Participates actively in all plant safety initiatives, programs and training sessions.

ISO:

• Follow all standard operating procedures with respect to performing the duties of this position.
• Stays updated on ISO procedures

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 1-3 years of experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
• Strong computer proficiency
• Able to learn new tasks and assignments and willing to maintain flexibility and support change.
• Must possess sound mathematical, verbal and written communication skills. (Should be able to work with percentages.)
• Experience with and knowledge of safety.
