Job summary

Sun Chemical is seeking a Production Operator for the Amelia main plant to run production equipment and support packaging operations on a 4/4 night shift. You will follow standard procedures and safety rules to ensure quality and accuracy in every batch.

Responsibilities include moving materials with forklifts, labeling boxes, and coordinating with shipping, quality, and maintenance teams. Candidates should have a HS diploma and be willing to complete required safety and cyber security trainings.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; associates degree a plus.
• Forklift certification for sit-down and standing types.
• Good verbal and written communication.
• Basic MS Office and math skills

Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment to produce quality pigment dispersions.
• Move materials and support packaging operations as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and training requirements.
• Lift up to 55 lbs repeatedly and operate material handling equipment.
• Coordinate with shipping, quality, and maintenance to ensure smooth processes.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: 4/4 Night Shift

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Operates production equipment to produce quality pigment dispersions in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Operates within a defined area making support materials to contribute to the final products manufactured
• Makes boxes, applies labels, moves skids of materials with material handling equipment
• Cleans flooring, tanks, and equipment regularly
• Interacts with other departments to share information for successful process flow
• Adheres to strict work instruction details to comply with customer requirements
• Complies with all safety procedures and safety training requirements
• Includes monthly completion of Dupont training modules
• Completion of cyber security modules, and any other company mandated training requirements
• Reports immediately any potential unsafe area or act to leadership.
• Communicates required information in all phases of production processes including but not limited to interactions with shipping and receiving, quality control, maintenance, leadership, human resource if necessary
• Includes both verbal and written communications.
• Operates material handling equipment including hoists and sit down and stand-up forklifts.
• Must be able to lift 55lbs repeatedly
• Must be able to meet all requirements as called out below for basic skills for language skills, reasoning skills, mathematical skills, and physical skills
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma or GED/equivalent
• Associates Degree is a plus
• Maintain certification in operation on all 3 types of plant industrial trucks and elevated platforms.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic skills in MS Office software; basic math skills
