Job summary

Johnson Matthey is seeking a Production Operator to support safe, productive manufacturing processes. You will operate according to standard procedures, handle loading/unloading, inspection and packing, and contribute to accurate production statistics.

The role of a Production Operator is to complete a production process operation according to standard operating procedures. Responsible for operating in a safe, productive and high-quality manner. These duties may include loading / unloading, inspection, packing, material movement, recording production statistics, operating or monitoring equipment operation and/or processes. Additionally, they are expected to actively participate in problem solving activities to help the team meet its goals.

Key responsibilities

As a Production Operator, you will help drive our goals by:

• Safety: Adheres to safety standards at all times; Identifies opportunities to improve safety.
• Quality: To carry out standard operations effectively in a safe manner to a high‑quality standard. E.g. loading / unloading, inspecting and packing. Checks quality of work according to JM and customer specifications.
• Delivery: Accountable for following standard processes to complete tasks. Escalates issues to ensure a timely resolution. Identifies and escalates opportunities for improvement.
• Cost: Supports CAPS implementation, as part of this using lean tools such a problem solving and 5S. Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement and the implementation of best practice principles, to enhance performance and operations.
• People: Supports in the training of other Operators.
