Job summary

The Production Assistant I will learn all aspects of production for Mission Produce. They will work side-by-side with the Production Supervisor and Production Coordinators to ensure production requirements are met to achieve Mission's goals.

This entry-level role supports quality inspections, material handling, and adherence to SOPs in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled environment, with occasional overtime and weekend shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication within the team and other departments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to follow SOPs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to work overtime and during holidays as needed.
• Display a positive attitude toward tasks and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist in stacking and quality inspections.
• Assist shipping and receiving with order breakdowns and preparation.
• Understand and adhere to Mission's ripening cycle.
• Monitor inventory levels and FIFO procedures.
• Conduct routine and visual inspections on avocados and mangos.
• Sample and inspect raw and finished products for conformance.
• Prepare aging, shipping, receiving, and grading reports.
• Set up stations and equipment to measure quality specifications.
• Maintain a clean and orderly workstation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
