The Production Assistant I will learn all aspects of production for Mission Produce. They will work side-by-side with the Production Supervisor and Production Coordinators to ensure production requirements are met to achieve Mission's goals.

This entry-level role supports quality inspections, material handling, and adherence to SOPs in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled environment, with occasional overtime and weekend shifts as needed.

JOB SUMMARY

The Production Assistant I will learn all aspects of production for Mission Produce. They will work side‑by‑side with the Production Supervisor and Production Coordinators to ensure production requirements are met to achieve Mission's goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in stacking and quality inspections.
• Assist shipping and receiving with order breakdowns and order preparation.
• Understand and adhere to Mission's ripening cycle.
• Understand inventory levels and FIFO procedures.
• Conduct routine and visual inspections on the avocados and mangos.
• Sample and inspect raw and finished products to ensure conformance to standards.
• Initiate and complete aging, shipping, receiving, and grading reports.
• Set up stations and equipment to measure quality specifications.
• Maintain a clean and orderly workstation.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills among the team and other departments.
• Strong problem‑solving skills.
• Ability and willingness to follow standard operating procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
• Ability to prioritize a variety of tasks in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Must have the ability to be flexible, including holidays and weekends.
• Display a positive attitude towards tasks.
• May be required to work Overtime as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Ability to work in a temperature‑controlled environment from 34°F - 42°F.
• Ability to lift or move 25-50 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders.
• Safely work near moving mechanical parts and equipment.
• Ability and willingness to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch/bend as needed to perform essential tasks.
