Job summary

ChampionX in Odessa, Texas is seeking a Local Production CDL Operator to run production tasks safely and efficiently. You will blend, react, package, and transfer finished chemical products, using pumps, mixers, and automation systems while maintaining quality standards.

The role requires a valid Class A CDL with HazMat/Tanker endorsements or the willingness to obtain them within 30 days, HS diploma or GED, and ability to lift up to 60 pounds.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class A CDL with HazMat and Tanker endorsements or be willing to obtain them within 30 days.
• Physically able to lift up to 60 pounds and wear respirator PPE as required.
• High school diploma or GED required; two-year process tech degree preferred.
• Minimum 6 months in warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily production tasks safely and efficiently.
• Blend, react, package, and transfer finished chemicals while maintaining quality.
• Operate pumps, mixers, automation controls, and packaging equipment.
• Perform forklift operations and manage raw materials and finished goods.

Local Production CDL Operator - Odessa, TX

What You Will Do

• Complete daily work functions within production operations in a safe and efficient manner
• Blend, react, package, and transfer finished chemical products while maintaining quality standards
• Operate mechanical and electrical equipment including pumps, mixers, automation control systems, and packaging equipment
• Perform forklift operations to move raw materials, finished products, and packaging materials throughout the facility
• Complete production documentation including production tickets, goods receipts, inventory transactions, and shipping documentation
• Conduct daily inspections of equipment and work areas while maintaining housekeeping standards throughout the facility
• Comply with all plant safety initiatives, environmental requirements, and quality procedures, including near-miss and incident reporting
• Assist with physical inventory counts and maintain inventory accuracy
• Ensure compliance with all applicable ISO requirements and company operating procedures
• Work closely with Production Team Leads and cross-functional teams to support safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations
• Operate commercial CDL vehicles to transport materials between company facilities and customer locations within the Midland/Odessa area, as business needs require.

Position Details

• Reports to: Production Team Leads
• Ability to work the assigned plant operations schedule, including overtime as needed
• Role is deemed safety-sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing

Minimum Qualifications

• 6 months of relevant experience in warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment
• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be medically qualified to wear a respirator
• Physically able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 60 pounds
• Must currently hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL), issued by the state in which the candidate resides
• Must possess HazMat and Tanker endorsements or be willing to obtain both within 30 days of hire. Acceptable motor vehicle record (3 years)
• Must be comfortable operating company vehicles equipped with in-cab camera systems.
• CDL must not include a manual transmission restriction.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders and perform bending, squatting, kneeling, and other physical activities required in a manufacturing environment
• Must have the ability to safely work in an industrial manufacturing environment while wearing required personal protective equipment

Preferred Qualifications

• Two-year Process Technology degree preferred
• Minimum of one year of experience as an operator in a batch or specialty chemical manufacturing plant
• Minimum of one year of relevant manufacturing or production experience
• Forklift operation certification preferred
• 24-Hour HAZWOPER certification preferred
• Basic computer application literacy, including Microsoft Office and the ability to learn internal business systems
• Prior experience that demonstrates strong communication and organizational skills
• Prior experience that demonstrates strong work ethic, effective time management, adaptability, teamwork, and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment

• May be required to Lift/Push/Pull/Carry up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders on a regular basis.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, and perform repetitive physical activities throughout the workday.
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment, including a respirator.
