Pace Engineering, Inc. is a manufacturer of machined components for the earthmoving, mining, and construction industries located in Willoughby, OH. We are seeking a Day Shift Production MIG Welder.
Welder tasks include:
- Maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
- Preparing work assignments by organizing tools, fixtures, supplies, and materials.
- Reading router instructions and associated drawings to understand work requirements and executing accordingly.
- Performing pre-heating, MIG, and TIG welding (single, dual, and multiple pass fillet welds), post-tempering, flame hardening, and quenching utilizing mild carbon and alloy steels to customer specifications.
- Setting up, programming, and operating an oxy-propane burn table to form parts from 0.25 – 2 inch thick carbon steel plate. Deburring and cleaning parts to prepare them for the next operations.
- Completing first piece inspection and obtaining inspector signoff. Performing in-process part inspection using calipers, mics, square, and weld gauges.
- Being certified in AWS D1.1 Welding.
- Performing production-maintenance activities as necessary (e.g., sweeping area, wiping exterior of machines and equipment, cleaning/maintaining burn table and welding equipment).
- Entering daily production job results into data collection.
- Documenting work by signing off on the job router.
- Performing maintenance and welding throughout the facility and on process equipment as necessary and as assigned.
- Promoting a positive work environment and leading by example in all aspects of job performance. Being cooperative with others.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
The position requires standing continuously for up to four hours, the ability to repeatedly lift up to 40 pounds, and walking throughout a multi-acre site.
