Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace seeks a Material Planner II for Production Material Planning in Savannah. This role manages material requirements within an MRP/ERP environment and communicates schedule changes to procurement and operations to support production and Completions.

The role emphasizes data integrity, timely reporting, and collaboration with Product Support, Manufacturing Engineering, in-house shops, and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field; 2 years of manufacturing/materials planning experience; Master's degree may offset 2 years of experience.
• Experience with planning in an ERP environment and strong data integrity skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and SAP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish material requirements aligned with production rates, lead times, and inventory objectives.
• Maintain planning data elements within lead times and service levels.
• Initiate purchase requisitions and purchase orders for new or reordered items.
• Coordinate with Product Support, Manufacturing Engineering, in-house shops, and purchasing to expedite parts.
• Analyze shortages and determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Monitor excess inventory and determine disposition; track parts.
• Prepare reports on inventory status and customer service levels.
• Generate replenishment schedules and communicate changes to buyers/planners.
• Train, develop, and mentor Material Planner I.
• Identify high-demand-variability components and propose management-approved options.
• Follow safety, 6S, and quality requirements in all duties.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing to optimize in-stock material.
• Interact with other departments to follow-up and coordinate parts.
• Develop understanding of Gulfstream Materials processes.
• Develop investigative/analytical mindset.
