Job summary

Lear Corporation is seeking a Master Builder at the Orion Plant in Michigan. The role trains, supports, and advises production team members on job functions and standardized work processes while ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities include on-the-floor training, maintaining knowledge of all line jobs, and ensuring adherence to ISO 14001 and quality procedures. Travel and inter-department collaboration are required to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
• Good attendance and positive work ethic.
• Strong written and verbal communication due to frequent customer visits on site.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Ability to follow written operator and inspection instructions.
• Ability to use automated machines, tools, and fastening equipment.
• Ability to work overtime hours and weekends as needed.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Train, develop, and support employees on job functions and workstations following standard instructions and company policies.
• Maintain knowledge of all jobs on the line and meet cycle time requirements.
• Follow Quality System policies and IATF‑related documents.
• Adhere to production and quality processes and instructions.
• Assemble and manufacture seat products according to operator instructions and inspection requirements.
• Monitor subassembly and final assembly areas for quality and consistency.
• Identify defective materials and ensure proper containment and scrap procedures.
