Job summary

Blencor is seeking a Production Manager & Planning to oversee daily production operations and lead planning/scheduling for the facility. You will coordinate with Warehouse, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Sanitation, HR, and senior management to ensure timely, safe, and compliant production.

This hands-on role requires a strong presence on the floor and excellence in planning, organization, reporting, and communication to drive efficiency and meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; bachelor's preferred in a related field.
• 5+ years manufacturing experience with supervisory or management background.
• Experience in food manufacturing, frozen foods, produce, or packaging preferred.
• Experience with production planning and scheduling.
• Knowledge of GMPs, food safety, sanitation, and manufacturing safety practices.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and production reporting.
• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.

Summary:

The Production Manager & Planning is responsible for managing Blencor’s daily production operations while overseeing production planning and scheduling for the facility. This position ensures production requirements are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and in accordance with Blencor’s food safety, quality, customer, and operational standards.

The Production Manager & Planning is responsible for coordinating production schedules based on customer orders, inventory, raw material availability, staffing, equipment capacity, and operational priorities. This position works closely with Warehouse, Quality Assurance/Food Safety, Maintenance, Sanitation, Human Resources, and senior management to ensure production requirements are properly planned and executed.

This is a hands-on management position requiring a strong presence on the production floor as well as effective planning, organization, reporting, and communication.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage daily production and packaging operations.
• Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules based on customer requirements, inventory, materials, staffing, and production capacity.
• Direct and support Production Supervisors, Leads, and production employees.
• Monitor production output, productivity, labor utilization, overtime, downtime, waste, yield, and schedule attainment.
• Compare planned production against actual results and address significant variances.
• Coordinate with Warehouse to ensure raw materials and packaging are available for scheduled production.
• Coordinate with Maintenance regarding equipment availability, downtime, and production priorities.
• Work with QA/Food Safety to ensure compliance with GMPs, food safety requirements, product specifications, and company procedures.
• Identify production constraints, delays, staffing needs, and operational risks and communicate them to management.
• Ensure employees follow Blencor's safety policies, PPE requirements, GMPs, attendance requirements, and other company policies.
• Coach and hold supervisor and employees accountable for performance, productivity, safety, quality, and attendance expectations.
• Coordinate employee performance, disciplinary, staffing, and employee-relations matters with Human Resources.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve production efficiency, workflow, scheduling, labor utilization, and operational performance.
• Perform otherduties as assigned based on business and operational needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Business, Food Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Five or more years of manufacturing experience preferred, including supervisory or management experience.
• Food manufacturing, frozen food, produce, or packaging experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with production planning and scheduling preferred.
• Knowledge of GMPs, food safety, sanitation, and manufacturing safety practices.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and production reporting.
• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.

PHYSICAL & WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

This position requires regular presence in production and warehouse areas. The employee may be required to stand and walk for extended periods; work in refrigerated, freezer, wet, and manufacturing environments; wear required PPE; and work around forklifts, production equipment, and industrial machinery.
