Job summary

CMC, a Fortune 500 company, is seeking a proven manufacturing leader in Alabama to oversee production, maintenance, quality, and safety across plant operations. You will partner with the plant manager to drive safety programs, training, and compliance while developing teams and guiding improvements.

The role emphasizes cost control, labor optimization, and proactive reliability, with opportunities to advance as you help scale operations in the steel and construction reinforcement industries.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Knowledge of concrete manufacturing processes, production planning, and continuous improvement practices.
• Experience managing production teams, equipment, and operational performance.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision‑making skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
• Ability to obtain applicable industry certifications, including ACI, QCAST, VDOT, and MSHA.
• Experience with concrete batch design preferred.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and occasionally climb ladders, walk production areas, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise production, maintenance, quality, and safety activities across plant operations.
• Partner with the plant manager to implement safety programs, training, and compliance initiatives.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development for production supervisors and employees.
• Establish production goals, monitor performance, and implement improvements to meet operational objectives.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and support preventive maintenance efforts.
• Monitor labor utilization, overtime, and operating expenses to support efficient plant performance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost control.
• Maintain high standards of workplace organization, housekeeping, and employee engagement.
