Job summary

CMC, a Fortune 500® company with a long history in construction reinforcement and steel products, is hiring a shop manager in the United States. You will oversee annual reviews, guide employee relations, and drive production to meet customer needs while maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will coordinate training, supervise staff, and ensure accurate production reporting across shifts. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential, with 3+ years of managerial experience

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication skills, in both written and verbal form.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.
• Able to interact with coworkers, customers, leadership, and vendors in a positive manner.
• 3+ years of managerial experience.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with troubleshooting electrical controls and reading electrical schematics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage annual reviews, coach and counsel shop employees on employee relations and development.
• Set production requirements based on customer needs and ensure flow of material.
• Ensure stock materials are received and tagged; inspect for uniformity and labeling.
• Direct and ensure production reports are completed for each shift.
• Direct interview processes and coordinate training of new shop employees.
• Partner with Safety Manager to direct safety meetings and ongoing training.
• Ability to supervise employees and set clear expectations.
• Delegate and supervise multiple employees and contractors to meet business needs.
• Lead department personnel toward safety, quality, KPIs and company standards.
• Meet or exceed financial and safety targets (KPI's, output, Labor, Safety, Quality, CS Service, Costs, Culture, regulatory compliance).
