Job summary

Sonoco is seeking a Production Manager to lead daily manufacturing operations at our Hartsville, SC facility. You will drive safety, quality, productivity, and cost targets while coaching and developing frontline teams and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of manufacturing experience, 2+ in leadership, strong Lean/Six Sigma acumen, and the ability to balance safety with cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, Safety, or related field (Bachelor's preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership/supervisory role.
• Demonstrated experience leading production teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety systems, and quality management principles.
• Proven ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, or similar methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily manufacturing operations to meet production goals, customer requirements, and delivery schedules.
• Monitor KPIs related to safety, quality, productivity, scrap, labor efficiency, and cost.
• Develop staffing plans and schedules to cover all shifts and collaborate with maintenance, quality, and logistics.
• Drive Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and 5S initiatives to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
