Volvo Group in Hagerstown, MD is seeking a Manager – Production I to lead an Assembly organization responsible for safety, engagement, and high performance while achieving safety, quality, delivery, and financial goals. You will coach and develop your team, ensure a safe environment, advance the Volvo Production System, and maintain strong UAW relations across the plant.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a relevant field or equivalent supervisory experience in manufacturing.
• Experience leading production or manufacturing teams in a union environment.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop your production team to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and financial objectives.
• Ensure a safe work environment and promote safe behaviors through risk identification and mitigation.
• Continue the implementation of the Volvo Production System (VPS) by standardizing ways of working and developing the organization.
• Take accountability for team development, UAW relations, project follow-up, and policy deployment from plant to operator level.
• Build and maintain relationships with UAW representatives and employees to foster a collaborative environment.
• Inspire and influence through a communicative leadership style and two-way communication.
• Ensure employees understand responsibilities and how their work contributes to business results.
• Develop the industrial workforce to meet current and future operational needs.
• Assess performance and competencies and provide training, coaching, or corrective action as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support priorities and continuous improvement.
