Job summary

Jobtailor in Santa Monica is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee studio and field shoots. You will manage logistics, staffing, equipment operations, and scheduling, coordinating with Producers during pre‑production to identify production needs.

You will develop production plans, book freelance crews and vendors, create call sheets, track resources and expenses, and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of production management experience in digital media or studio environments.
  • Strong understanding of production workflows from pre-production through post.
  • Hands-on experience with cameras, lighting, audio equipment, and studio operations.
  • Experience managing freelance crews, vendors, and production logistics.
  • Proficiency with production scheduling, call sheet creation, and crew coordination.

  • Oversee in‑house gear room and production inventory.
  • Ensure all production equipment is operational and organized.
  • Support lighting setup, camera operation, and audio recording.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues during shoots.
  • Process and track freelancer invoices, production expenses, and vendor payments.
  • Maintain accurate production records and operational paperwork.

  • Proficiency with production scheduling, call sheet creation, and crew coordination
  • Ability to lift and transport production equipment for field shoots
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple productions simultaneously in fast‑paced environments
  • Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
  • Familiarity with modern production equipment including DSLR/mirrorless cameras, cinema cameras, wireless audio systems, lighting packages, and grip equipment preferred
