Job summary

SSW Advanced Technologies, LLC is a growing multinational supplier to global appliance OEMs. The Onsite Production Manager will plan, direct, or coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications.

This full-time role in Vincennes, IN, offers a salary of $110,000.00 annually and responsibilities including Lean manufacturing, supervision of staff, and ensuring compliance with EHS regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of management experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing principles; Six Sigma training preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to mentor supervisors and team leads.
  • Basic understanding of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations.
  • Strong leadership and collaborative skills.
  • Detail-oriented and hands-on.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, or coordinate work activities and resources for manufacturing products.
  • Ensure continuous improvement maintenance of production equipment.
  • Perform special inspections to locate causes of machine faults.
  • Schedule repairs with internal or external bodies.
  • Inform management about new technological developments.
  • Propose improvements to manufacturing machining.
  • Test pilot facilities/equipment and new manufacturing methods.
  • Decide on implementation of new methods and purchases.
  • Lead and develop employees with performance appraisals and training.
  • Ensure adherence to EHS laws and internal regulations; develop concepts with EHS site advisor.
  • Design processes using Lean Manufacturing; train employees.
  • Register staff for training; promote continuous development.
  • Work toward Lean Manufacturing concepts during hiring and transfers.
  • Maintain awareness of training offerings and engage in advanced training.

Job Summary:

The Onsite Production Manager will plan, direct, or coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures continuous improvement maintenance of production equipment.
  • Special inspections are performed in case of machine faults to locate causes of failure.
  • Schedule the execution of repairs by to internal or external bodies.
  • Informs self and management team about new technological developments.
  • Submits proposals to improve manufacturing machining.
  • Executes and examines the testing of new pilot facilities/equipment and new manufacturing methods.
  • Decides on the implementation of new methods as well as the use and purchase of new production machining.
  • Leads, promotes, and motivates the employees within his/her area of responsibility (includingperformance appraisal and goal setting agreement, successor and representative planning, personneldevelopment, and training measures).
  • Ensures adherence to and monitoring of legal laws and internal regulations concerning EHS in his/her organizational unit and is occasionally involved in the development of new concepts and directives in close cooperation with the EHS site advisor.
  • Ensures implementation of the concepts in his/her area of responsibility and takes care of the corresponding instruction and training of his/her employees.
  • Designs processes according to the principle of Lean Manufacturing and ensures that these are executed and observed in the organizational unit.
  • Makes sure that the manufacturing environment fully understands the idea behind Lean Manufacturing and registers employees for training courses and/or activities aimed at refreshing skills.
  • Ensures that plant standards are applied in Lean Manufacturing when new personnel are hired and with transfers.
  • Registers employees for mandatory training courses and offers additional dedicated training measures, if necessary.Informs himself or herself of the current training offerings on a regular basis.
  • Participating in advanced training courses keeps aware of new developments in Lean Manufacturing.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Supervised or Directed:

Reports to Plant Manager.

Qualifications, Experience requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent on-the-job experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of management experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with a focus on fabrication, production, maintenance, or logistics.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing principles and practices, with optional training in Six Sigma.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite for data analysis, communication, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and mentor supervisors and team leads for continuous improvement.
  • Basic understanding of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations and practices.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive results, manage resources effectively, and foster a collaborative work environment.
