Job summary

Weidmann Electrical Technology is seeking a Production Manager - Converting to lead the make-to-order paper converting department at our Urbana, OH site. The role focuses on safety, quality, service, and productivity while cultivating a values-based culture and developing leaders.

You will oversee 70+ employees, 18 machines, and evolving 24/7 operations. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, Green Belt certification, 10+ years of manufacturing leadership in 24/7

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
• Green Belt Certification and proven experience of leading continuous improvement projects.
• Demonstrated success in building and developing leaders — not simply managing teams, but applying talent management tools, development plans and partnership with L&D, HR improve leadership capabilities and competencies.
• Proven expertise in make-to-order production environment and utilization of Lean methodology tools to sustain manufacturing processes.
• Experience managing and adhering to ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
• Strong ERP proficiency required; SAP experience preferred.
• Solid financial acumen, including, cost control, budgeting, and productivity analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to operate strategically — balancing long-term planning with operational execution.
• Collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence across functions and levels of the organization.
• Must have experience working in a matrix environment.

The role…

The Production Manager - Converting provides manufacturing expertise to the site’s make-to-order paper converting department. This role ensures that the production of products and processes meets or exceeds safety, quality, service, and productivity expectations while driving a values-based culture that focuses on employee development, retention and manufacturing best practices. The department includes 70+ employees, 18 machines, and evolving 24/7 operations.
