Job summary

CAMACO LLC is seeking a Production Manager to oversee the production department in our Indiana plant. You will direct activities, supervise staff, and coordinate with maintenance and quality to maximize throughput and quality across lines.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in a manufacturing-related field and 8+ years in automotive manufacturing, with strong leadership and communication skills to drive continuous improvement and cost control.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in manufacturing management or technical field.
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing, preferably automotive.
  • Experience leading production teams and coordinating with maintenance and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the production department personnel and performance.
  • Explain and direct production activities and establish priorities.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and quality for optimal utilization of resources.
  • Develop and implement procedures to improve product quality and efficiency.
  • Oversee headcount, staffing, and budget adherence; enforce company policies.
  • Supervise day-to-day operations, training, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Adjust schedules to address equipment failures or production problems.
  • Collaborate with engineering on machine improvements and new lines.

Job description

PurposeThe production manager is responsible for production-related communication flow and coordination between all company resources. This includes accountability for staffing, administration, production, quality, materials, equipment, schedule, cost, safety, housekeeping and the financial performance of the plant.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.1. Manage the production department personnel.2. Explain and direct production activities and establish production priorities.3. Coordinate production activities with maintenance and quality to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment.4. Implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operation problems and to improve product quality.5. Work with human resources to establish and maintain corporate policies and manage overall headcount according to the budget and sales.6. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. These responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; performance appraisals; rewarding and discipline; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.7. Revise production schedules and priorities as a result of equipment failure or operating problems.8. Consult with engineering relative to modifications of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products, or when developing new lines for a new product.9. Manages special projects as requested by the General Manager.10. Frequent communication with all levels of management, corporate support groups, Quality Assurance, and plant personnel.11. Responsible for related safety requirements.12. Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsRequired Education & Experience1.
