Job summary

SolvChem is seeking a hands-on Production Manager to lead daily operations, drive safety, quality, and efficiency, and work with cross-functional teams to meet schedules. The role requires leading Line Leads, coordinating changeovers, managing run rates, and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced chemical manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's in a technical field, 3–5 years in high-volume manufacturing with supervisory experience, and bilingual

  • 3-5 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment with supervisory experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily production activities to meet schedules and quality standards.
  • Supervise Line Leads and guide execution per procedures and schedules.
  • Own production changeovers ensuring materials, equipment, and personnel are coordinated.
  • Monitor run rates and adjust to prevent delays or bottlenecks.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance to minimize downtime and with Planning to optimize schedules.
  • Work with Purchasing to ensure raw materials availability for production.
  • Ensure Line Leads have blends and production inputs ready for runs.
  • Collaborate with Logistics and OSBL support to ensure production is properly supported.
  • Establish, monitor, and analyze KPIs including OEE to hit run rate targets.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for efficiency.
  • Work with Process Engineer on issue resolution and process improvements.
  • Promote safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

We are seeking a hands-on, results-driven Production Manager to lead daily production operations and ensure safe, efficient, and consistent execution. The ideal candidate is a strong leader and problem solver who can effectively guide production teams, make decisions in a fast-paced environment, and work closely with cross-functional teams to keep operations running smoothly.

Position Summary:

The Production Manager leads and oversees production operations to ensure products are produced safely, efficiently, and according to schedule and quality standards. This position is responsible for coordinating people, materials, equipment, and support services to keep production running smoothly, while monitoring KPIs and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to identify opportunities for improved productivity and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily production activities to ensure production schedules, targets, and quality standards are met safely and efficiently.
  • Supervise Line Leads and provide direction to ensure production activities are executed according to established procedures and schedules.
  • Own the execution of production changeovers, ensuring materials, equipment, personnel, and other requirements are coordinated and ready.
  • Monitor production run rates and make adjustments as needed to support efficient production and prevent delays or bottlenecks.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance and other support teams to address equipment issues and minimize production downtime.
  • Work closely with Planning to support efficient production schedules and ensure tankers are properly scheduled.
  • Partner with Purchasing/Buyers to ensure required raw materials are available prior to production.
  • Ensure Line Leads have the necessary blends and other production requirements ready for scheduled runs.
  • Collaborate with Logistics and other Outside Battery Limits (OSBL) support services to ensure production activities are properly supported.
  • Establish, monitor, and analyze production KPIs, including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), to ensure required run rates and performance targets are achieved.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends, performance gaps, and opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Work closely with the Process Engineer to identify and resolve production issues and implement process improvements.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across production operations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or equivalent operational experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, with demonstrated supervisory or manager level leadership.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
  • Previous small pack experience preferred.
  • Chemical industry experience preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt) and OSHA certifications are strongly preferred.
  • Experience developing SOPs, work instructions, manufacturing routings, or process documentation required.
  • Experience with ERP, MES, or related manufacturing business systems required.

  • Sound decision-making skills with the ability to respond effectively to production issues, delays, and changing priorities.
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.
  • Proactive approach with initiative, follow-through, adaptability, and a willingness to take ownership of production performance and improvement opportunities.
