Job summary

The Job Store Staffing is recruiting an experienced Production Manager to lead day-to-day production operations in a chemical/manufacturing environment. This is a fully onsite, hands-on leadership role focused on safety, quality, and meeting customer commitments.

Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday to Friday. You will oversee a team, coordinate with multiple departments, and drive continuous improvement on the production floor.

Qualifications

  • Experience in chemical or medical device manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of chemical handling and workplace safety practices.
  • Experience operating a powered forklift.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to document and report data.
  • Comfortable leading on the production floor.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily production activities and supervise Chemical Technicians and department leads.
  • Schedule production technicians and allocate resources to meet production goals.
  • Monitor production schedules, order status, inventory levels, yields, costs, and scrap.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Planning, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Customer Service.
  • Communicate production progress, potential delays, and inventory concerns to leadership.
  • Ensure raw materials, finished goods, PPE, packaging, and other production supplies are available when needed.
  • Champion safety, environmental compliance, and quality procedures on the production floor.
  • Train technicians on standard production procedures and EH&S practices.
  • Work with Quality Control to resolve issues with finished products that do not meet customer specifications.
  • Support inventory cycle counts and audits of chemicals and consumables.
  • Conduct goal-setting and performance review meetings with production employees.
  • Ensure compliance with QMS, EH&S, ITAR, and company policies.
  • Work with Engineering and Maintenance to ensure production equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Job description

We’re hiring an experienced Production Manager to lead day‑to‑day production operations in a manufacturing environment. This is a fully onsite, hands‑on leadership role for someone who thrives on the production floor, can manage competing priorities, and is passionate about safety, quality, and meeting customer commitments.

The Production Manager will be a dire hire opportunity with our client that is a growing manufacturing company.

What You’ll Do
  • Oversee daily production activities and supervise Chemical Technicians and department leads

  • Coordinate closely with Operations, Planning, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Customer Service

What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience in a chemical manufacturing environment or medical device manufacturing experience.
  • Knowledge of chemical handling and workplace safety practices
  • Previous experience operating a powered forklift
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to accurately document and report data
  • Comfortable working directly on the production floor and managing a team
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office
