Job summary

Factory8, a NYC-based garment production agency, is seeking a production manager to oversee trim library, track production at our factories and vendors, and manage QC and shipping. This full-time, 9-5 role offers interaction across designers, factories, and clients.

Ideal candidates will have a fashion/design production background, strong communication, and superb organizational skills to coordinate price quotes, packing instructions, and deliverables from TOPs to final QC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Production Management, or Pattern-making.
• Several years experience in production management and quality control.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as a team player while also independently managing their own work responsibilities.
• Extremely organized with attention to detail.
• Be able to move or lift boxes or bolts of fabric as needed and run errands within the Garment Center.

Job Description

Looking for a dynamic self-starter for a production management position. Your primary responsibilities would be overseeing the trim library, tracking production in person at our factories and other vendors, conducting QC, and managing shipping and deliverables. This is a full time 9-5 position, M-F.

Mandatory Requirements

• Maintain all trim library and manage all incoming and outgoing trim.
• Communicate and follow up with clients and factories regarding production and trim details for all confirmed orders.
• Act as a communication liaison between design and production/factories regarding garment and trim details, costing, and quality issues.
• Work with management and manufacturers for price and delivery quotation.
• Advise factory on carton packing instructions and shipping lists, and oversee all outgoing shipping and deliverables, including wheeling boxes to UPS truck at times.
• Oversee that all details from customer approved TOPs and purchase orders are correctly mirrored in production during final QC and throughout production process.
• Provide status reports to management regarding any production issues.
• Work cross-functionally with multiple clients, vendors, factories, and Factory8 Management.
• Attend fittings and maintain thorough notes, measurements, dates, and other details communicated by designer.
• Oversee Quality Control inspections and product returns/fixes.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize production processes and increase efficiency across the production operation.

Job Qualifications

Bonus Requirements

• Experience in techpack design and CAD creation.
• Relationships with mills and fabric suppliers, and experience sourcing materials.
• Spanish and/or Chinese speaking.

We are a non-corporate, design-oriented production and product development consulting group with a dynamic roster of clients and products we service. We specialize in domestic NYC-based garment manufacturing with an emphasis on quality and sustainability. We are a small but mighty team, looking for the right fit for our growing company based out of NYC’s exciting Garment District.
