TRS Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Manager, Production - Beneficiation Plant to oversee all production activities, drive safety, quality, and reliability, and lead improvement initiatives in a heavy industrial environment.

The role requires a strong track record in beneficiation or mineral processing, plus the ability to manage large teams, optimize equipment performance, and coordinate cross-functional engineering and maintenance efforts to meet targets and budgets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering required.
  • 15–20 years of progressive production leadership in beneficiation or similar heavy industry.
  • Proven success leading large teams and managing complex industrial processes.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and oversee plant production to meet targets.
  • Lead production personnel including engineers, supervisors, technicians.
  • Ensure safety compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams.
  • Develop budgets and manage resources to minimize downtime.
  • Prepare reports on plant performance and downtime analysis.

Position Summary

The Manager, Production - Beneficiation Plant is responsible for overseeing all production activities within the beneficiation plant to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This role is accountable for achieving production targets, maintaining quality standards, optimizing plant performance, and maximizing equipment availability and reliability. The successful candidate will lead production teams, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations Management
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee plant production activities to achieve established production targets.
  • Ensure optimal performance and reliability of beneficiation plant equipment and processes.
  • Monitor operational performance and analyze equipment data to identify and resolve recurring issues.
  • Ensure adequate raw material availability to support uninterrupted operations.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop production personnel, including engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
  • Foster a culture focused on safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams to support efficient plant operations.
  • Evaluate plant performance and implement initiatives to improve efficiency, productivity, and reliability.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and develop solutions to improve throughput and operational effectiveness.
  • Monitor and manage energy consumption and operating efficiencies.
Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce compliance with all company safety standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and employee training initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable environmental and regulatory requirements.
Resource & Budget Management
  • Optimize labor, materials, and operational resources to minimize downtime and control costs.
  • Develop and manage operational budgets and resource plans.
Reporting & Business Planning
  • Prepare and present reports related to plant performance, downtime analysis, and operational metrics.
  • Maintain production and consumption records.
  • Develop plant shutdown plans and support annual business planning activities.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related technical discipline; Master's degree preferred.
  • 15-20 years of progressive production leadership experience within beneficiation, mineral processing, mining, steel manufacturing, or similar heavy industrial operations.
  • Demonstrated success leading large production teams and managing complex industrial processes.
Technical Skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of beneficiation processes, equipment, and plant operations.
  • Experience with process optimization and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of industry safety, environmental, and operational standards.
  • Ability to analyze performance data and drive operational improvements.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive operational excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Process Optimization, or related disciplines.
  • Experience leading operational improvement and performance enhancement initiatives in heavy industrial environments.
Compensation
  • Salary Range: $150,000 - $170,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
