Job summary

Allied Reliability is seeking a Production Manager for Quarry Mining operations. The role requires leading production, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives in a heavy industrial setting.

The position focuses on coordinating weekly scheduling, daily standups, and ensuring high-quality output while managing a team of operators and maintenance staff. Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of managerial experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering, Mining, Business or related field.
• 2+ years of manager experience in heavy industrial manufacturing; dept manager or superintendent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and interface with regulatory agencies; lead efforts to observe safety rules and coordinate with agencies.
• Oversee production quality and adjust schedules to meet customer specs and demand.
• Attend weekly scheduling and daily production meetings to align maintenance and production.
• Ensure quality work from operations personnel; provide training and support as needed.
• Keep plant running during breakdowns and provide feedback to teams to improve performance.
• Apply knowledge of operational and people management to achieve goals and lead teams.
• Experience in mining/heavy manufacturing, especially kilns; drive improvements.
• Lead and manage improvement projects to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Analyze current processes to identify enhancements and implement changes.
• Drive active safety engagements through stand-downs, SLAMs and shift meetings.
• Conduct routine field walks to inspect plant and ensure processes run smoothly.
• Establish housekeeping, greasing and equipment inspection standards and remove barriers to compliance.

Allied reliability is seeking a Production Manager for Quarry Mining operations. Ideal candidates will have either a Heavy Industry Manufacturing, manufacturing related to mining, paper mills, steel plants, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, or cement plants, background.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and interface with regulatory agencies: Lead efforts to observe all company safety rules and regulations, ensuring adherence to standards set by regulatory bodies. Regularly communicate with agencies to stay updated on compliance requirements.
• Maintain product quality and adjust production plans to meet customer needs: Oversee the production process to ensure high-quality output. Make necessary adjustments to production schedules and methods to align with customer specifications and demands.
• Participate in weekly scheduling and daily production meetings: Actively engage in weekly meetings to coordinate schedules between maintenance and production teams. Attend daily morning meetings to discuss production status, address issues, and align on priorities.
• Ensure quality work from operations personnel: Monitor the performance of operations staff to ensure they adhere to quality standards and best practices. Provide training and support as needed.
• Keep plant running during breakdowns and provide feedback to teams: Coordinate efforts to maintain plant operations during equipment failures or other disruptions. Offer constructive feedback to both maintenance and operations teams to enhance performance.
• Knowledge of operational and people management: Apply expertise in managing both operational processes and personnel to achieve organizational goals. Utilize best practices in leadership and team management.

Basic requirements

• Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Mining, Business or related field
• 2+ years Manager experience in heavy industrial manufacturing environment; previous experience as department manager or superintendent for larger facilities would also be a fit; industry background in manufacturing related to mining, paper mills, steel plants, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement plants, etc. preferred.
