Job summary

O-I in Muskogee, OK is seeking a Production Manager to lead in-plant technical services across forming, mold repair, machine repair, refiners and forehearths, applying lean six sigma to improve quality and line efficiency.

The role oversees department leaders, provides technical and financial oversight, collaborates with production teams to reach safe, high-quality packed tons, and drives projects from start to finish.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in glass forming and manufacturing environments.
• Experience supervising and leading people and processes.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills at all levels.

Job Description

The Production Manager is responsible for providing the highest level of in-plant technical services in the areas of Forming, Job Change, Mold Repair, Machine Repair, Refiners and Forehearths. Provides technical and continuous improvement through an application of lean six sigma principles to achieve high quality and high line efficiency outcomes.

The Production Manager will:

• Manage department and discipline leaders in mold repair, machine repair and forming


• Provide technical and financial oversight in areas of accountability


• Collaborate with production teams to help them achieve their goals for safe, quality packed tons


• Drive adherence and compliance to Manufacturing Fundamentals in areas of accountability


• Responsible for managing and forecasting major projects

The Production Manager should have:

• Experience supervising and training employees and managing cross-functional teams


• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization


• Be able to support job changes and improvement initiatives


• Ability to operate and train others on glass forming machines

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent years of experience


• Previous glass industry experience, specifically in glass forming


• Prior experience in job change and machine repair is preferred


• Previous experience supervising/leading people and processes in a manufacturing environment


• Demonstrated leadership abilities and strong interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization.

Additional Information

What we offer at O-I:

Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is between $105,000 - $120,000 and includes a possible 15% short-term incentive bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
