Job summary

Hendrickson is seeking an experienced manufacturing leader to oversee all plant operations in Missouri. You will drive on-time delivery, productivity, safety and quality while managing costs and housekeeping.

You will develop the shop floor leadership, optimize capacity and lead continuous improvement initiatives, with strong emphasis on labor relations, OSHA compliance, and preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum five years in manufacturing with direct supervision.
  • Experience leading employee involvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and safety regulations; able to train others.

Job description

The individual will be responsible for all manufacturing operations. Primary measures of performance will be customer service, on‑time delivery, lead times, manufacturing costs, safety, quality and housekeeping.

Essential Functions
  • Manage all manufacturing processes and achieve performance on‑time delivery, lead times, manufacturing costs, safety, quality and housekeeping.
  • Manage and develop shop floor supervisory team (MOS Playbook).
  • Resource management (Labor/Equipment).
  • Support all logistical activities to provide optimum manufacturing performance.
  • Direct all manufacturing operations so as to assist in the control of plant inventory levels.
  • Recommend capacity adjustments to the plant manager, i.e., equipment, staffing levels.
Education and Training
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Business, Operations, Industrial Management, or Engineering.
  • MBA preferred but not required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a metal fabricating or assembly environment.
  • Experience should include direct manufacturing supervision.
  • Should be experienced in leading successful employee involvement efforts.
  • Demonstrated competence at union avoidance and coaching/developing subordinates a definite plus.
  • Should be familiar with manufacturing concepts such as KANBAN, MRPII, Constraint Management, and Total Predictive Maintenance.
  • Demonstrated skill in assisting the HR function a positive.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other safety regulations required; should be able to design and carry out safety programs, including training.

  • Occasional driving, grasping and pinching.
  • Minimal standing, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing and reaching.
  • Lift up to 5 lbs.
  • Carry up to 5 lbs. (approximately 25 feet).
  • Push/Pull 10 lbs. of force (1-5 feet).
