Production Manager

Location: Livonia, MI, US

Belanger, Inc. is part of OPW VWS, a leader in the Vehicle Wash Manufacturing industry. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager provides manufacturing leadership to deliver a superior customer experience and ensure team performance. This role oversees a team of 20 across Assembly, Manufacturing, and Production Quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Lead team to achieve KPIs for Safety, Quality, Productivity, Inventory, and Delivery, ensuring safety rules are followed and risks are eliminated.
2. Meet or exceed quality metrics, using LEAN/Cl tools to identify and eliminate defects.
3. Ensure orders are completed on schedule.
4. Oversee inventory control to prevent discrepancies and minimize losses.
5. Implement cost-saving initiatives and motivate the team to meet output goals.
6. Provide operational training, leadership, and foster a positive work environment.
7. Plan, coordinate, and control manufacturing processes, managing resources effectively to meet production and quality standards.
8. Promote employee engagement and maintain positive employee relations.
9. Implement and sustain manufacturing technologies to improve operational excellence and safety culture.
10. Collaborate with other departments on company projects.
11. Conduct performance evaluations for team members.
12. Maintain effective internal controls and perform self-assessments.
13. Ensure quality assurance processes meet customer needs.
14. Mentor staff, evaluate performance, address behavioral issues, and participate in hiring.
15. Participate in sales reviews and prioritize tasks with functional teams.
16. Stay updated on manufacturing techniques.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
• 3-5 years in electronic manufacturing or controls
• 2+ years leading Production teams
• Ability to read drawings and prints
• Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems like Infor, Epicor, Oracle is a plus
• Strong analytical skills for data-driven decisions

Desired Characteristics:

• Experience with Cl/Lean tools and concepts
• Experience in production assembly, mechanical repair, automotive, or electronics
• Customer service orientation
